In Tbilisi , if you want to stay in hostels , choose hostels on the way of Rustaveli Street. Prices are around 25 lari per night. If you want to go to the airport, choose the public bus No. 37 . From train station to Rustaveli Street,  take subway all the time. Subway of Tbilisi is dated to 1950's. At the background street of Bank of Georgia, there are fine dining places those you must visit and eat, drink, chat and get in to the internet. Nightlife hovers around at these places.
In Batumi , I advice you to stay in the hotels on the Airport highway. Nightlife is good around those hotels.
